HARRISBURG — Eighty-four state grants were announced today for volunteer fire, EMS and ambulance companies in the 32nd Senatorial District, according to Sen. Pat Stefano (R-32), who said the funding is crucial to protecting public safety.
The grants are awarded as part of the Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Company Grant Program, which helps eligible organizations fund facility renovations and/or construction, equipment purchases, debt reduction and training.
“Pennsylvania has a long history of volunteerism dating back to the creation of the nation’s first volunteer fire company in 1736, and our dedicated volunteer fire and EMS responders continue to provide a valuable service to our communities,” Stefano said. “As these volunteers continue this rich tradition of protecting their communities, these grants will help ensure they have the resources they need to do their job safely and efficiently.”
