Stefano Pleased Supreme Court Favored Parents Over Government with School Mask Mandate

HARRISBURG – Senator Pat Stefano (R-32) issued the following statement regarding the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision to end the Wolf Administration’s school mask mandate:

“I am pleased that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled with the majority of Pennsylvanians, who feel that the most effective way to preserve public health is to make decisions locally. The vote acknowledged that a one-size-fits-all approach to COVID-19 challenges does not match the diversity of our communities. Instead, we must be calculated and thoughtful.

“School boards and parents, using the guidance available from qualified health experts, will now be able to make the best decision for students. Government – rather than parents – should have never had the ultimate say in how best to care for children.”
