Stefano, Warner Announce Nearly $108,000 Grant to Improve Community Safety

HARRISBURG – Sen. Pat Stefano (R-32) and Rep. Ryan Warner (R-52) announced today that Connellsville Township received nearly $108,000 in funding from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to add sidewalks along Francis Avenue.

“It’s great to see aid coming to a project in Connellsville to make our community safer,” Stefano said. “I’m pleased that we were able to work together to secure funding to balance the costs of adding sidewalks along Francis Avenue.”

The funding was approved by the CFA through the Multimodal Transportation Fund.

“This is such an important investment in pedestrian safety and community safety as a whole,” Warner said. “I appreciate the opportunity to work with township officials and Sen. Stefano to help bring this project to fruition.”

The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development that administers the commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages.

Multimodal Transportation Fund awards may be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.
