Stefano, Topper Announce Bedford County to Receive More than $3.4 Million in Roadway and Sewer State Grant Funding

HARRISBURG – Sen. Pat Stefano (R-32) and House Minority Leader Rep. Jesse Topper (R-78) announced today Bedford County roadway and sewer projects will benefit from more than $3.4 million in state grants. The funding was administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).

“Reliable infrastructure is critical. By improving roads, bridges, and essential water and sewer systems, these grants will help municipalities in Bedford County to better serve residents and support long-term economic growth,” Stefano said. “I’m proud to work with Leader Topper and local partners to deliver this funding, ensuring that these projects have a lasting impact.”

“The funding will have a meaningful impact on local residents and represents smart investments in our communities,” Topper said. “These projects range from water and sewer upgrades to roadway improvements, and I appreciate the CFA recognizing their value.”

The following approved projects were funded through the Multimodal Transportation Fund:

Bedford County Development Association was awarded $813,427 for access road improvements within and adjacent to the Bedford County Business Park.

Bedford Township was awarded $465,085 to demolish and reconstruct Dively Road Bridge.

Bedford Borough was awarded $984,998 to improve the pedestrian routes between Central Way, Huntingdon Avenue and Juliana Street.

The following approved projects were funded through the PA Small Water and Sewer Program:

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth.

The PA Small Water and Sewer Program provides grants to municipalities and municipal authorities for water, sewer, storm water and flood control projects.

Both programs are overseen by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

The CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
