HARRISBURG — Sen. Pat Stefano (R-32), and Rep. Eric Davanzo (R-58) announced that the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $73,387 in Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) funds from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) today.
The funding will support the purchase of new water rescue equipment, including dry suits, SCUBA gear and rescue respirators. The equipment will strengthen the department’s ability to respond to water emergencies in Scottdale Borough and surrounding areas that are vulnerable to flooding and swift-water hazards.
“This funding will give the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department the tools it needs to respond when our community faces an emergency,” Stefano said. “Investing in water rescue equipment will help improve the safety of our residents and first responders while strengthening emergency preparedness throughout the area. I’m proud to work with Rep. Davanzo and help bring these resources home to support the volunteers who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.”
The Pennsylvania Gaming Act allocates proceeds from gaming revenue to support projects in the public interest across the commonwealth.

The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to administer the commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages.
